What does it mean for you to become lighter? Losing weight and keeping it off requires a change of behaviors as well as a change of heart. All too often we carry the burden of excess weight alone. Seeking support is a critically important part of sustaining change.
- Who can you reach out to for support during this change?
Change cannot happen without hope and faith. We must believe in possibilities for a new future. For some of us this may require a new way of thinking that helps to attract more of what we want in our lives. Often though, our ego senses this change as excruciatingly painful and resists it. Starting out with small goals is one way to overcome this resistance.
- “How can I shift my attitude to something positive?”
- “How can I appreciate what I already have?”
- “How can I be more patient with myself and others while I make this change?”
- “What do I have to look forward to that will make this change worth it?”
Thought for the day: What can I do or think right now to help create meaning in this situation? How can I see this opportunity to change as a gift?
